MaticPress Dropbox Backup

In MaticPress, along with downloading the backup to your local PC option, you can also save backups directly to your Dropbox account.
In order to do so, first of all you need to go to MaticPress Backup Settings page and there you need to add App key and App Secret and after adding click on Save button. You will find both of these paramters on Dropbox's developer page. Click here to go to Dropbox developer's page.

If you don't have the app already then you need to click one by clicking on Create app button as shown below:

Fill all the fields as shown below with the name of app as your preferred name and then click on Create app button as shown below:

On the next page, you will see your App Key and App Secret as shown below. On this page, you will have to enter in return URI and then click on the + button as shown below:

Now in order to take backup of any website you need to go to MaticPress Backup => Backup menu and click on the dropbox icon as shown below:

You will get vaious option as shown below.

Out of these options, it's recommended to choose Only Database as most of the times, files won't change. You can also choose Only Plugins or Only Themes if you're going to change your themes or plugins.

Important Note: "Complete Backup" option takes a lot of time as it first zips all the files and then database and then it sends the same to the Dropbox. sometimes, this fail too as most of the client servers don't have appropriate settings. For complete back you need to ensure your website's php.ini settings are significantly large like memory should be 1024M (if your website size is in GBs then this value should be even higher!), Post size is 100 MB (or more depending upon the size of your website) etc.

Now suppose you choose Only Database option, then you will be redirected to Dropbox interface for authorization, here you will have to Authorize the connection and then your backup will be saved in your Dropbox account.

MaticPress Multilingual

Using this feature of MaticPress, any WordPress theme or Plugin which is language-ready can be translated to any language using Google translate API.

Step 1: Signup for Google Cloud account and attach your debit or Credit card (you will get $300 credit which is enough for hundreds of plugin and theme's translations)

Step 2 : Create or select any project inside Google cloud and Enable Google Translate API

Step 3: Add your Google translate API key here:

Step 4: Open any theme or plugin folder which you want to translate. Once you open it, you will find Languages folder. Upload the .POT file which is there and select the language in which you want to get the translation and hit Generate button. You will get a zip file containing .mo and .po files. Copy these 2 files in your theme/plugin's Languages folder. That's it.

You need to install this on WordPress installation which is in the same language. For.e.g if you have translated the plugin to Arabic language then download and install Arabic version of WordPress from here: and then install and activate the translated plugin on this WordPress.

If you don't have languages folder in your theme/plugin, then contact the theme or plugin developer as without .pot file, this feature won't work.

This happens when your website doesn't allow authentication by MaticPress. Please try following 2 solutions:
1. Try disabling all the plugins and then enable them 1 by 1 to find the plugin creating the issue.
2. Please contact your website hosting and ask them to fix the permissions of your website files (644) and directories (755) and ask them to disable the server firewalls for remote connections from our server IP:
